Mark Pushinsky
Instructor, Coach, Consultant, and CST

Mark Pushinsky is an agile coach, trainer, and consultant whose broad experience in business management and team dynamics enable him to create breakthrough results for his clients and their companies. As a Certified Scrum Trainer, Pushinsky has led and supported more than 25 agile projects and has trained over 500 Certified Scrum Masters. He has also worked extensively with distributed Agile teams, involving multiple companies across many time zones. Most recently, he was in India working with a world-class outsource services provider on Agile adoption.

Pushinsky is skilled at helping teams and managers through the initial change to the Scrum process and at assisting large scale enterprise adoption through assessment, strategic planning and executive coaching. He has seen numerous failures and developed a keen sense of the project environments that are ready to accept the change and transparency that an agile process demands.

Pushinsky (with Dymond and Douglas) was a member of a change team that initiated and led a two-year lean/agile adoption initiative at a Fortune 200 Financial Services company that resulted in a time-to-market reduction of over 40% and a process execution time savings of 70%.

A former NCAA Division 1A football player, Pushinsky's deep understanding of leadership and dynamics in high-performing teams has helped him design and deliver high-impact Scrum training for local and distributed teams of various sizes. Pushinsky holds a master's degree in IT Management from University of Virginia and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from William and Mary.

Chris Doss
Instructor, Coach, Consultant, and CST


Chris Doss is an Agile Coach, trainer, consultant, and Certified Scrum Trainer (CST). Chris has over ten years as a project manager and is a Project Management Professional (PMP). Chris has coached or supported over forty different Agile teams and led the implementation of Agile for large organizations with extensive change management.

Also having served in management for an Agile organization, Chris understands the support system and infrastructure that needs to exist in order for Agile to thrive within a company. Chris is also a Six Sigma Green Belt and understands how Lean principles should be applied within business processes and product development.

Chris has been an officer in the Army National Guard for over twelve years, deploying to Operation Iraqi Freedom during 2004. Chris understands the importance and value that strong leadership has within an organization and how that can enable high-performing teams and performance.

Chris received his master's degree in Business Administration from Lynchburg College and his bachelor's degree from the Virginia Military Institute

Robin Dymond

Robin Dymond is a proven leader and innovator in training for Scrum,Agile, and Lean methods. He regularly achieves 100% increase in productivity of teams he trains and supports. These hard to believe results are achieved by a deep understanding of Lean and Agile principles, team dynamics, and many Agile change management experiences. Dymond developed Scrum, Lean, and Agile training for teams and trained hundreds of “new to Scrum” team members. At Agile 2007 Dymond and Pushinsky presented an innovative new class for Scrum Product Owners that has lead many to re-think their role and how business value is achieved.

A frequent speaker and organizer in the Agile community, Dymond co-organized and facilitated both the APLN National Leadership summit and the Agile Executive Consortium in 2007. He is the co-founder and board member of the APLN Richmond VA chapter, organizing local Agile events. Robin Dymond is also assisting with the submission, review, and planning of the Learning and Education sessions at Agile 2008.

Dymond has lead teams using Scrum, eXtreme Programming, Continuous Integration and Test Driven Development since 2002. In 2003 Dymond lead the first large enterprise application development in Canada that used Agile and Microsoft .NET. Since then Dymond implemented Agile in service of multi-national retail companies, startups, and Fortune 500 clients.

Dymond has spent 17 years helping companies deliver complex software products and services through his broad understanding of software best practices in team leadership, system design, software patterns, and development processes. His current focus on change management, integrating Lean process engineering with Agile methods, and Return on Investment (ROI) analysis of Agile methods keep his clients on the cutting edge of adoption. Robin Dymond holds a BSc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary. He is a Vice-President, Managing Partner and co-founder of Innovel, LLC.

David Douglas
Executive Facilitator, Instructor, Coach, and Consultant

David Douglas is a skilled facilitator and excels at leveraging disparate personalities and skills in solving complex problems. He is the facilitator and trainer with whom executives love to work. He is a true innovator in training and application of Scrum and Lean, taking these practices into completely new business domains, such as hardware infrastructure deployment, regulatory operations, and compliance. David has lead over 50 skeptical mid-level and senior executives through facilitated, interactive sessions on Agile and Lean; educating, informing, while establishing personal credibility and trust. CIOs, CEOs, and other senior executives look to Douglas for the new school management perspective that they need to make the transition to Agile successful in their organizations.

David Douglas co-organized and facilitated the first gathering of large company CIOs and senior executives at the Agile Executive Consortium in July 2007. In October 2007, David Douglas facilitated at the APLN National Leadership summit in Richmond, VA.

David Douglas is a career consultant for Fortune 500 and mid-sized companies in a wide array of industries. He has extensive experience in complex, large scale iterative program efforts. He has demonstrated success at leading large scale (100+ projects) Agile and Lean organizational adoption initiatives. He has also successfully managed three releases for one of the world’s largest programs to use RUP, a $120MM per year legacy system overhaul that included a team of over 500 professionals and 40 teams.

Prior to co-founding the consulting firm Innovel LLC, he started a sales and marketing software company that he subsequently sold in 2002. He has worked for IBM, American Management Systems, Legg Mason, and Foote Cone & Belding. He received a BSFS degree in International Economics, Finance and Commerce from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and the Certificat d’Etudes Politiques from l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris, France.

Michael Hamman
Instructor, Coach, and Consultant

As an organizational consultant and educator, Michael Hamman creates learning environments in which people find themselves able to move beyond personal and institutional limitations and to create for themselves deep, transformative learning.

As a Scrum Master, Michael has led numerous agile projects from inception to delivery. He also has trained and coached over 70 Certified Scrum Masters. From 2004 through 2006, he was instrumental in a large, highly successful, lean/agile adoption initiative at a Fortune 200 Financial Services client. Among the largest corporate Scrum adoptions in the U.S. Clients served by Michael include OJC Technologies, Coordinated Sciences Laboratory, National Center for Supercomputing Applications, JDA Software, and Beckman Institute.

Michael earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagn in an interdisciplinary program that combined computer science, philosophy, and music composition.  He has published more than 20 articles and book chapters on the topic of creativity and technology.
